Before we work with clients, we want them to recognize that the "truth" about estate planning is probably different than they thought. See what you think of the following statements. Our "Truth About Estate Planning" workshops go into the details behind these matters, so come sometime for more information.

Many people think the purpose of estate planning is limited to ensuring that your assets and possessions are passed on to the people and parties you want to have them after you die, with as little delay and costs as possible. However good estate planning goes beyond this—it plans for adequately addressing many of the obligations you undertake if you are no longer able to perform your responsibilities due to death or incapacity. The preparation of a will, powers of attorney and the nomination of superannuation beneficiaries are all part of the process – but there is much more to an estate plan than that.

A typical estate plan includes a revocable trust (sometimes called a “revocable living trust”), health care power of attorney, general durable power of attorney, and a last will and testament. For business owners, a business durable power of attorney is mandatory. Future funding through the proceeds of insurance and the tax implications that result from an unexpected event need to be properly considered. The key to proper estate planning is clear, comprehensive, customized instructions for one’s own care and for the care of their loved ones. We find that most of our clients are best served with a combination of legal tools, backed up by the Three Step Strategy™ of Lifespan™ Planning.

Our Three-Step Strategy™ Can Help!

The Estate Planning Attorneys at the Marsalese Law Group, use a unique Three-Step Strategy™ to ensure that your personalized estate plan will work in the way you want it to. These unique Three-Step Strategy™ are as follows:
